About The Police:

The Police was a British rock band formed in London, England in 1977. The band consisted of three members: Sting on lead vocals and bass guitar, Andy Summers on guitar, and Stewart Copeland on drums.

Sting (born Gordon Sumner) had previously played with a variety of bands before joining The Police. Summers had played with several psychedelic rock bands, and Copeland had played with various punk rock bands.
